Allison Mozdzen
MSW, LCSW, CADC
Psychotherapist
You don’t have to carry it all alone. Healing begins when we feel truly seen and supported—and that’s exactly what Allison aims to provide.
Allison (she/her) specializes in helping individuals and families navigate trauma, anxiety, and substance use. She understands how overwhelming life can feel when past experiences continue to shape the present or when patterns feel difficult to break. Through a trauma-informed and compassionate approach, Allison helps clients find clarity, stability, and a deeper sense of self.
Allison works with teens, adults, and families specializing in supporting those with a history of trauma or navigating any stage of substance use and recovery. She understands that trauma can shape how people see themselves, relate to others, and move through the world, often in ways that feel confusing or overwhelming. Her work focuses on helping clients gently explore these experiences, build safety in the present, and reclaim parts of themselves that may have felt lost or shut down. Whether someone is just beginning to explore their relationship with substances or has been on a recovery journey for years, Allison offers a nonjudgmental, steady presence rooted in both clinical experience and deep respect for the complexity of healing.
She also enjoys working with teenagers facing peer or family issues, young adults going through a “quarter-life crisis,” and parents concerned about their child’s school or mental health challenges. She is passionate about supporting families as they work through tough conversations, reconnect, and better ways to communicate. Allison's goal is to help clients feel empowered and confident in facing whatever challenges come their way.
Before entering private practice, Allison gained extensive experience in a variety of settings, including schools, community mental health organizations, and residential treatment programs for adults with substance use disorders. These roles deepened her understanding of addiction, family dynamics, and the importance of meeting each client where they are.
Allison is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and other trauma-focused approaches. While she draws on evidence-based practices, she believes the foundation of meaningful therapy is a relationship built on trust, safety, and connection.
Clients working with Allison often describe her as warm, grounded, and easy to talk to. She’s committed to creating a space where people feel respected, understood, and empowered to move toward meaningful, lasting change.
Outside of work, Allison enjoys sitting on her back patio with a good book and her dog, discovering new restaurants in the city, and spending summer days by the water in Lake Geneva
